Both BOMApen models are available four ways:

1. Balance forward (titanium endcap, total pen weight: B5:58g, D6:84g)
2. Balance centered (X–750 endcap, total pen weight: B5:63g; D6:90g)
3. Balance back (tungsten endcap, total pen weight: B5:74g; D6:104g)
4. Multibalance set (all three endcaps)

The balance of BOMApens can be moved by changing endcaps. Three different endcap materials, tungsten, alloy X–750 and titanium provide balances that are back in the hand, in the middle or forward. Each has a unique personality that must be felt to be understood (most pens in the world are back balanced).

The bodies of Inkling BOMApens are machined in the USA from solid sintered bars of the element tungsten; a mind boggling material that is also extremely difficult to machine. BOMApen bodies are surfaced with tungsten carbide. As a result its exterior is as hard as sapphire and has superb scratch and scuff resistance (this “sandblasted” finish is forever).

Every BOMApen comes in a custom cherry wood box that also serves as a desk cradle and display. Inside, a sensuous viscoelastic foam holds and protects the pen and endcaps.
