Adolphe Sax



Adolphe Sax was born in 1814. Sax developed the concept of the saxophone in 1838 and he was so convinced that no one could match his creation that he proceed to patent it only on 1846. Sax gave his name to four families of musical instruments: the saxhorns, saxotrombas, the saxtubas and of course the saxophones. This new collection celebrating sax and his invention is the result of a joint effort of Delta and IASA (International Adolph Sax Association) a non-profit association, proceeds of the sales of the A. Sax collection will be offered by Delta to the association to sponsor both saxophone courses for youngsters and the organization of the 2002 international saxaphone contest. The Sax collection includes 4 versions, Platinum, Celebration, special and limited edition. The Platinum and Celebration are limited to 14 and 46 pieces respectively. In the special and limited edition 814 pieces are offered for each writing instrument. All writing instruments offer precious metals. The Platinum offers a combination of solid platinum, 18 kt solid gold and precious stones. Only 814, 46 and 14 fountain pens produced respectively for all over the world using black special resin hand turned from a solid bar. Pink solid gold 750‰, Solid Sterling silver platinum plated 925‰ and rubies. The filling system is with lateral lever; the lever is in platinum plated metal. The nib is in two-tone 18 kt gold with a platinum plated mask
